The first four teams qualify for the Copa Libertadores while the last 4 teams relegate to DIV.2 .The fifth team would play prequalification games with an Argentinian team for another team spot in Copa Libertadores, otherwise the team participates for the Copa Sudamericana. Eight teams participate in the Copa Sudamericana.
FA CUP winner qualifies for Copa Libertadores.
In the event of a points tie the follow will apply:
1. Most wins.
2. Goal difference.
3. Most scored goals.
4. Play-off between teams.
5. Drawing.
SPORT RECIFE qualify for Copa Libertadores a FA CUP Winner.
INTERNACIONAL qualified for the Copa Sudamericana 2009 holders.
